Täby
Seaplane Club - TÄBY SJÖFLYGKLUBB is the only seaplane club in
the Stockholm area. The club is situated north of Stockholm City, in Hägernäs,
Täby, Sweden. It is located on historic ground at the lake Värtan,
where the Swedish Navy experimented with aviation as early as 1912,
only a few years after the Wright brothers. Later the Royal Swedish Air
Force formed a base for seaplanes here. It is closed since 1975,
but many buildings are still there, though now chiefly used for
different purposes.

Taquan
Air - Venture
Travel, LLC dba Taquan Air is the successor to Taquan Air Service,
Inc. Company president, Brien Salazar, purchased key assets from the
former company through Venture Travel, LLC in the spring of 2000. His
purchase was based on strategic assets necessary to take advantage of
the growing tourism market and to operate the Forest Service Fixed
Wing Contract. Taquan Air is recognized today as one of the most
successful floatplane operations in Alaska. The company's success can
be attributed to safe, simple, and profitable operations by using
standardized equipment and being customer service driven. Taquan Air's
fleet is exclusively DeHavilland Beaver aircraft. The commonality of
aircraft enables the company to maintain an extensive parts inventory
and the proper equipment and tools to support this type of aircraft.
Taquan Air acquired an initial inventory of aircraft parts and
equipment from the previous Taquan Air Service, Inc. As the company
matures it continues to expand these assets to further improve its
support capability.

Coast Mountains in the southwest and the Canadian Rocky Mountains in
the northeast. The nearest hard surface runway is at 108 Mile House (CZML).

-
Tofino
Air - Some of the worst flying conditions
found anywhere in the world exist over the densely forested terrain of
the Canadian North Woods. In addition to being subjected to long,
blizzard-filled winters, the millions of square miles that stretch
between the Labrador Sea and the North Pacific Ocean above the 50th
parallel are sparsely populated, and modern airfields are few and far
between. In fact, were it not for the uncounted thousands of
lakes that dot the Canadian North, air travel within that vast region
would be all but impossible, for there is nowhere else to land.

Trans
Maldivian - Originally called Hummingbird Island Helicopters,
TMA is the oldest and, in many ways, the most experienced Air
transfer operator in the Maldives. It pioneered the use of
aircraft to transport tourists to island based resorts. In doing
so, it has made a significant contribution to the development of
tourism to the Maldives, which in turn has resulted in major
benefits to the national economy. Founded in 1989, the company
operated a strictly helicopter fleet of aircraft until the
introduction of the first seaplanes in 1997. The transition to a
'seaplane-only' fleet of aircraft was completed in January of
1999. TMA now operates 15 Twin Otters, all but one of the
DHC-6-300 type.

Turtle
Airways Ltd. - Fiji Islands Floatplane Service
- Turtle Airways was founded by Richard Evanson in 1979, partly
to transport crew and material for the 1980 film, the "Blue
Lagoon." The popular movie, starring Brooke Shields, was filmed
on Evanson's privately-owned Turtle Island, an award-winning five-star
resort located in the Yasawa Islands. The short, scenic and convenient
flight to the island is just 30 minutes by air from Fiji's
international airport in Nadi, compared to up to nine hours by boat.
(Despite the similarity in names, Turtle Airways and Turtle Island are
separate companies and serve different, although complementary,
needs.) In 1982, Evanson sold 75% of Turtle Airways to South Seas
Cruises, in exchange for 25% of the cruise company. In 1998, however,
South Seas Cruises was sold to Fullers, a large publicly-traded
transport company based in New Zealand. This event gave Evanson, an
American multimillionaire expatriate now known for his tourism and
philanthropic activities in Fiji, an opportunity and incentive to
resume total ownership of the Fiji-based airline. He repurchased
Turtle Airways in July, 1998. Under Evanson's direction, Turtle
Airways has been an exclusive seaplane transfer service for Turtle
Island in order to better service Turtle Island guests.
