Martin Mars Water Bombers - Firefighting certainly wasn't what Glenn L. Martin had in mind for the design of the Martin Mars. Originally conceived as a bomber for long range missions and patrols, the production aircraft were redesigned and classified for long-range general transport because of the demonstrated heavy-lift capability of the prototype. The "Big Four", as they were affectionately known, established airlift and endurance records which remain valid today and they logged some 87,000 accident-free hours before being retired by the USN and sold to Flying Tankers. Mr. Martin would be very pleased to know his original intention of the Mars in a bomber role came to pass in their second career as waterbombers!

Max Schwab - I’ve been roaming the wild places of Alaska by foot, snowshoe, boat, airplane, skis and raft since 1978. I’ve spent many seasons guiding from southeast Alaska to the Brooks Range. I am a full time commercial pilot with 6000 hours of Alaska flying time. I maintain a fleet of three airplanes equipped with wheels, skis or floats to cover a wide variety of transportation needs. I operate under FAA Part 135 (air charter) regulations. I operate and maintain my planes to better than FAA standards.

Miami Seaplanes - After much research and investigation, Tony and Adriel settled on the popular Cessna 172 Seahawk seaplane because it had better payload capacity, was easier to modify and perhaps most important these days, it had far superior fuel efficiency. Cessna airplanes are considered the most successful mass produced aircraft in history! With Tony's vast knowledge of the mechanical side of airplanes, he completely renovated and aerodynamically enhanced the plane, which is the first airplane in a planned fleet. One obvious benefit to our Cessna 172 Seahawk seaplane is that it can hold three people plus the pilot, whereas the ultralight can only hold one other person. Today with a new name and business model, Miami Seaplane Tours is poised for dynamic growth.

Mission Creek Lodge - Mission Lodge is located on the shores of Lake Aleknagik in the heart of the world famous Bristol Bay region of Southwest Alaska. Our operation mainly revolves around flying out each day to different areas throughout the region in order to capitalize on various fisheries in their prime. To accomplish this we own three DeHaviland Beavers (Grandma, Nellie and Delta Bravo) and lease another Beaver or Cessna as needed. Safety is of the utmost importance to us and to assure this we spend a considerable amount of time working on our planes in the off season. The planes are hangared at Wolf Lake just East of Anchorage.

We also have rivers that produce large numbers of salmon, accessed by float plane or helicopter up and float down. On our fly outs, we strive to guide our guests into rivers that provide a wilderness adventure and large numbers of fish. The scenery on the flights into these salmon rivers is breathtaking, with glaciers and waterfalls amid coastal fjords.
