- Eugene "Chink" Lagasse founded KAS, then Millinocket Lake
Flying Service, in 1946. The aircraft?... a three seat Piper Super
Cruiser. For 30 years Chink flew his woodsy customers into the wilds
of Northern Maine to chase after lunker trout and "baster"
Bucks. Those were the days of the log drives, horses and hardy
lumberjacks.

Air Service
- Today, Katmailand is staffed year round by Sonny Petersen, the owner
and son of Ray Petersen, and he continues to run the "Angler's
Paradise Lodges" in the same tradition started by his father.
Sonny spent his childhood summers at the lodges and in 1974 he began
an air taxi operation, Katmai Air. Today he spends his summers
managing the three lodges and Katmai Air while spending his winters
promoting and organizing for the next season. Many key members of the
lodge staff return summer after summer, which assures Angler's
Paradise guests of consistent quality and professional service.

Biology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and is extremely
knowledgeable about the Kodiak Island Archipelago.
