En 1924, un petit aérodrome est aménagé non loin de l’hôtel Gray Rocks. L’entreprise de Tom Wheeler qui deviendra Wheeler Airlines obtient le premier permis d’aviation commerciale du Canada et prends son envol vers les forêts et les lacs du Nord: l’aviation de brousse vient de naître au Canada.
